David has a BA in Business Administration from UNC-Greensboro (1990) David is a graduate of Page High School (1981). He has been in insurance since 1985. He has been licensed since 1985. He holds two designations CPCU (1988) and CIC (2003). He is married and a father of two.

Daniel C. Craft, CIC – President
Daniel has a BA from UNC-Greensboro (1990) and an AA from Lees-McRae (1987). Daniel is a graduate of Page High School (1985). He has been in insurance since 1990. He has been licensed since 1991. He holds the designations of CIC (1996). He is married and a father of three. Daniel serves on the Boards for Downtown Greensboro (Chair) & Preservation Greensboro and Kiwanis Club of Greensboro.

Wayland V. Moore, Jr. – Senior Vice President
Wayland is a native of Greensboro and graduated from Page High
School in 1969 and a 1973 graduate of NC State University. Upon
graduation he started with Great American Insurance Company as
an underwriter and then took a position as marketing manager. He
joined The Insurance Center of NC, Inc. in 1980 and has been
a partner/owner in the firm since 1993. During the late
1970’s and 1980’s Wayland was active with the Greensboro
Jaycees and the Greater Greensboro Open. He had the honor
of being appointed to and later elected Chairman of the Guilford/City
Insurance Advisory Committee that is responsible for the placement
of municipal and county governmental insurance programs for Greensboro,
High Point and Guilford County. He is married and has a
daughter at Meredith College and son at NC State University. Wayland
grew up in Fisher Park and now enjoys working in his old neighborhood
at the agency’s new North Elm Street office.

William E. Smith, CIC – Senior Vice President
Bill is a Page High School graduate. He is also a Wake Forest graduate with a BA in Economics and Speech. Bill has been in the insurance industry and licensed since 1971. He has held a CIC designation since 1998. He has been a Claims Supervisor, Senior Adjuster and in Sales. Bill is a Past President of the Guilford College Civitans, an Active Church member, Husband, Father of two & Grandfather of three.

Ronald J. Sydell, CIC – Senior Vice President
Ron is a graduate of UNC-Greensboro with a BS in Accounting. He has been in the insurance industry since 1997. He has held a CIC designation since 2003. He became partner in the agency in 2007. Ron is married and has one child.

Mark Schott – Senior Vice President
Mark Schott is a 1971 graduate of Duke University. He started his impressive 35 year insurance career as a disability insurance agent expanding into the property and casualty business. In 1980 he started his own insurance agency, Mark K. Schott Insurance Services Company Inc., which merged with Greensboro Insurance Services in 1987.
He has been an active member and officer/board member of the Greensboro Jaycees, United Way, Greensboro Chamber of Commerce, Bryan Park Commission and Independent Insurance Agents of Guilford County.
Mark has been the recipient of several awards throughout his career including numerous local, state and national Jaycee awards, Alamance County Association of Insurance Women Boss of the Year and Greensboro Insurance Women Boss of the Year.
Mark resides in Summerfield with his wife and three daughters and enjoys golf, reading and time with family and friends.

Robert W. Mays – Commercial Insurance Executive
Bob is a graduate of Grimsley High School and Cum Laude graduate of Wofford College with a BA in Government. He has been in the insurance industry and licensed since 1976. He was the owner of Mays Insurance Agency and Vice-President at BB & T before joining The Insurance Center team. Bob is very active in the community he has been a City Councilman, Jaycees’ President and Past President CAPIA/Big I-NC to name a few. He is a husband and father of two.

Mark McLamb, CIC – Commercial Lines Senior Account Manager
Mark is a graduate of UNC-Greensboro with a BA in Business Administration. He has been in the insurance industry and licensed since 1983. Mark has held a CIC designation since 1999. He volunteers with Civitans, Church, and has coached Junior Youth League Basketball and Baseball. Mark is a loving husband and father of two.

Jean started her business career with an insurance carrier 30 plus years ago. Her career includes 10 years experience with financing insurance and over 10 years with Independent Agencies in Greensboro, NC. Jean earned her CISR designation in 2003. She is honored to say, she has been married to her beloved husband for 32 years and has a son and two precious grandchildren.

Phyllis attended Guilford College . She has been licensed and in insurance since 1977. She holds two designations CISR (since 1992) and CIC (since 1997). She began her career at Davis Insurance purchased by K&M Insurance and merged with Craft Insurance in 1989.

Cara obtained a BS in Business Administration with a double major in Risk and Insurance and Finance and Banking from Appalachian State University. She has been in insurance since 2005 and licensed since 2006. Cara began her career with Deering & Associates in underwriting and joined Craft Insurance Center in 2006.

Joan began her career in the insurance industry in 2002 after moving here from New York City. She has recently received a CLCS (Commercial Lines Coverage Specialist) designation and is working towards her CISR designation. She joined Craft Insurance Center in 2007.

Ann Suriani, CIC – Commercial Account Manager
Ann has been in the insurance industry for over 40 years specializing in Commercial Lines. Ann holds both the Certified Insurance Counselor and Certified Professional Insurance Women designations. She is a very active member of in Greensboro Insurance Professionals and served as their president in 2003. Ann is the recipient of the 2004 North Carolina Customer Service of the Year Award, the 2006 North Carolina Association of Insurance Women Professional of the Year and the 2007 AAMGA award. Ann moved from the New York/New Jersey area in 1993 with her husband of 37 years and her son to be closer to family. She enjoys reading, gardening, the beach and spending time with family and friends.

Meredith Tysor – Commercial Account Manager
Meredith is a Greensboro native, she began her insurance career in 1977 with Ohio Casualty Insurance Co. She worked with two other companies, Harleysville and Pennsylvania National, before switching to the Agency side of business in 1985. She worked with Robins & Weill, Inc for approximately 22 years and at Senn Dunn for 1 year. She came to Craft Insurance Center in March of 2008. Meredith has both the CISR and AAI designations.
